Supporting Teachers with role-modelling positive body image and eating disorder prevention

On Monday, June 14, 2021, NEDIC facilitated a webinar focused on those supporting people within Canada’s Kindergarten-to-Grade 12 education system.

Attendees:
• Learned about the impact of COVID-19 on youth body image and disordered eating

• Engaged in discussion about the challenges of instructing our students during the past year

• Heard about strategies to be a positive role model in your classroom

• Were guided through our free, evidence-informed curriculum tools that you can use to teach students about media literacy and self-esteem — two key eating disorder risk factors — that meet curriculum expectations for Grades 4-8.

Jointly hosted by the National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC) and ANEB Québec, this English-language session featured information and tools applicable for teachers instructing in English or French.
